Strengthen EU-India ties through exchange of ideas, networking and collaboration



The EU is India's largest trading partner, accounting for €92 billion of trade in goods in 2018 or 12.9% of total Indian trade, ahead of China (10.9%) and the United States of America (10.1%).


India is one of the important tourist markets for Europe, with over 10 million Indians travelling to Europe every year. This number expected to grow up to 15 million in 2020.


The number of Indian students studying abroad increased by 163% between 1999 and 2006 to reach 145,539 as compared to slower growth of 25% between 2006 and 2013 to reach 181,872, according to an analysis of UNESCO data.


The EU and India are working closely together on sustainable development, clean energy and climate action post-Brexit energy sector would present considerable opportunities to our businesses.
